That’s me!

Hi,

I’m Anne Fareena Baumann.

Sri Lanka has been part of my story from the very beginning. I was born there, was adopted and grew up in Germany, but I always felt a deep connection to this small island on the other side of the world. In 2010, I returned for the first time again and it felt like coming home.

Since then, I’ve travelled across Sri Lanka countless times, exploring its hidden corners, eating the best curries, and meeting some of the warmest people imaginable. I know the loud, chaotic places just as well as the quiet, magical ones that never make it into traditional guidebooks.

With Tea, Temples & Tuktuks, I’m sharing my insider tips and my love for this country with you. I want to show you how to experience Sri Lanka in a way that feels authentic, beautiful, and personal: beyond the usual tourist trail, but with the comfort you actually want.

To me, Sri Lanka is also about serendipity — finding something beautiful without even looking for it. A hidden beach at sunset. A tiny local café with the best curry of your trip. A conversation that stays with you long after you’ve returned home.

My goal is not just to give you an itinerary, but a feeling: the feeling of discovering Sri Lanka in a way that feels real and maybe even finding a second home along the way.

Let’s explore Sri Lanka together.
